An EVM-compatible Bitcoin Layer 2 by B² Network that uses BTC as gas, enabling fast, low-cost transactions and seamless Ethereum tooling for Bitcoin-native apps.
B2 is a Bitcoin Layer-2 mainnet that brings an EVM execution environment secured by Bitcoin while using BTC as the native gas. It’s built for BTC-native DeFi (DEXs, lending, perps), fast BTC payments/micropayments, and bridging BTC liquidity into EVM apps and games. Typical performance: seconds-level block times, tens-of-sats average gas for simple transfers, and hundreds+ TPS capacity, with activity scaling as new dApps deploy.
B2 is unique because it settles to Bitcoin and charges gas in BTC, keeping users and developers inside the BTC economy—unlike most EVM chains that rely on a separate token or settle to Ethereum. Compared with Bitcoin L1 (~10-minute blocks, single-digit TPS, and fees that can surge into thousands of sats), B2 offers seconds-level blocks, hundreds+ TPS, and stable sats-denominated fees that enable interactive apps and fast cross-chain bridging. For the latest averages (gas cost, block speed, TPS, and activity), consult the official explorer linked from bsquared.network.
B2 uses BTC as the gas token for transaction fees. You can obtain BTC by bridging from other chains or purchasing using thirdweb Bridge.
To bridge BTC to B2, connect your wallet to thirdweb bridge, select your source chain, choose the token you want to bridge, select B2 as the destination, enter the amount, and confirm the transaction. The bridge will handle the cross-chain transfer instantly.
To build on B2 you can use thirdweb, which provides an easy way to build, monetize and scale your apps, games or agents. You can find detailed guides and documentation on https://portal.thirdweb.com to get started quickly.
To add B2 to your wallet, you can connect your wallet and click on [Add to Wallet] button at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can add the network manually using the RPC URL and chain details and add it to your wallet's network settings.
To send BTC on B2, ensure your wallet is connected to the B2 network, enter the recipient's address, specify the amount of BTC to send, review the gas fee, and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
