BEVM is a Bitcoin Layer-2 mainnet that runs a fully EVM-compatible environment, letting you deploy Solidity dApps while paying gas in native BTC. Core use cases include bridging BTC, Ordinals, and BRC-20 into DeFi (DEXs, lending, perps), payments and microtransactions, and cross-chain liquidity and gaming with BTC-settled finality. With sub-cent BTC gas and seconds-level blocks (~2–3s), it enables high-frequency trading and low-cost transfers not feasible on Bitcoin L1.
BEVM is unique for using BTC as the sole gas token while preserving full Ethereum tooling compatibility and anchoring to Bitcoin through a decentralized bridging design—so users keep a Bitcoin-native UX without wrapped assets. Performance highlights for comparison: average fees typically under $0.01 in BTC, block intervals around 2–3 seconds, and hundreds+ TPS, versus Bitcoin L1’s ~10-minute blocks and single-digit TPS; mainnet activity has reached six-figure daily transactions during peak periods. This blend of BTC-denominated fees, fast finality, and EVM programmability distinguishes BEVM from conventional EVM sidechains and alt-L1 networks.
BEVM uses BTC as the gas token for transaction fees. You can obtain BTC by bridging from other chains or purchasing using thirdweb Bridge.
To bridge BTC to BEVM, connect your wallet to thirdweb bridge, select your source chain, choose the token you want to bridge, select BEVM as the destination, enter the amount, and confirm the transaction. The bridge will handle the cross-chain transfer instantly.
To build on BEVM you can use thirdweb, which provides an easy way to build, monetize and scale your apps, games or agents. You can find detailed guides and documentation on https://portal.thirdweb.com to get started quickly.
To add BEVM to your wallet, you can connect your wallet and click on [Add to Wallet] button at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can add the network manually using the RPC URL and chain details and add it to your wallet's network settings.
To send BTC on BEVM, ensure your wallet is connected to the BEVM network, enter the recipient's address, specify the amount of BTC to send, review the gas fee, and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
