It is used to develop and QA bridge integrations, simulate cross-chain message flows, and test liquidity routing without mainnet risk. Developers can deploy contracts, run relayers, and validate fee behavior, limits, and failure recovery before promoting to staging or mainnet.

Nexus Devnet is optimized for cross-chain debugging, with bridge-specific tooling such as message tracing, granular event logs, and relayer sandboxing—capabilities uncommon on generic testnets. As a testnet, performance metrics fluctuate and may reset; no official averages for gas cost, block speed, TPS, or network activity are publicly published as of September 2025, so benchmark your use case against the latest devnet release or explorer. Expect rapid finality and low gas during testing, but do not treat Devnet costs or throughput as production values.

Nexus Devnet uses NEX as the gas token for transaction fees. You can obtain NEX by bridging from other chains or purchasing using thirdweb Bridge, or through faucets (for testnet).
