An EVM-compatible blockchain testnet using ETH, onvm supports low-cost smart contract testing and seamless dApp development with standard Ethereum tools and Chain ID 8855.
onvm is an EVM-compatible testnet (chain ID 8855) that uses ETH as the native gas token and is available via thirdweb. It’s designed for rapid prototyping of smart contracts and cross-chain bridge workflows before mainnet, letting teams deploy ERC-20/721/1155, test token transfers/oracles/relayers, and run end-to-end integration with faucet-funded test ETH. Assets are valueless test funds, enabling safe, repeatable experimentation.
onvm prioritizes bytecode-level EVM equivalence with ETH-denominated fees and seamless thirdweb RPC/SDK integration, making it straightforward to port Ethereum dApps and test bridge flows with realistic gas semantics. As of Sep 2025 no official benchmark is published, but for comparison the key metrics are: average gas cost negligible in test ETH, block speed on the order of a few seconds, TPS sufficient for high-volume load testing, and overall network activity lower than mainnets—ideal for deterministic, low-noise performance and cross-chain testing.
onvm uses ETH as the gas token for transaction fees. You can obtain ETH by bridging from other chains or purchasing using thirdweb Bridge, or through faucets (for testnet).
To bridge ETH to onvm, connect your wallet to thirdweb bridge, select your source chain, choose the token you want to bridge, select onvm as the destination, enter the amount, and confirm the transaction. The bridge will handle the cross-chain transfer instantly.
To build on onvm you can use thirdweb, which provides an easy way to build, monetize and scale your apps, games or agents. You can find detailed guides and documentation on https://portal.thirdweb.com to get started quickly.
To add onvm to your wallet, you can connect your wallet and click on [Add to Wallet] button at the top of the page. Alternatively, you can add the network manually using the RPC URL and chain details and add it to your wallet's network settings.
To send ETH on onvm, ensure your wallet is connected to the onvm network, enter the recipient's address, specify the amount of ETH to send, review the gas fee, and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
