Quai Network is a mainnet, proof-of-work Layer-1 composed of a hierarchical set of parallel blockchains (Prime, Region, Zone) that interoperate natively, using QUAI for gas. It targets high-throughput, low-fee workloads such as payments, DeFi, gaming, social, and cross-chain dApps that need atomic transactions across shards without external bridges. Quai Network is unique for its PoW-based, natively sharded architecture with merged mining across all chains, enabling atomic cross-chain execution and a unified address space without external bridges. Compared with monolithic L1s (e.g., Ethereum), Quai offers faster block cadence at the zone level (seconds vs ~12s), significantly lower fees (sub-cent vs dollars under load), and linearly scalable TPS by adding zones while preserving decentralization. This design lets dApps achieve high throughput and predictable finality with low gas even during peak network activity.

Quai Network uses QUAI as the gas token for transaction fees. You can obtain QUAI by bridging from other chains or purchasing using thirdweb Bridge.

To bridge QUAI to Quai Network, connect your wallet to thirdweb bridge, select your source chain, choose the token you want to bridge, select Quai Network as the destination, enter the amount, and confirm the transaction. The bridge will handle the cross-chain transfer instantly.
